Natalie Wood, John Daly, What’s My Line?, 1966

Beautiful Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning American actress Natalie Wood (July 20, 1938 – November 29, 1981) made a guest appearance on the popular American game show “What’s My Line?” This episode aired on April 24, 1966.


Wood is seen here with the show’s host, John Daly (February 20, 1914 – February 24, 1991). Daly, born in Johannesburg, South Africa, was also a journalist and radio personality; he served as host and moderator on the panel show during its 17-year run from 1950 through 1967. Daly missed hosting “What’s My Line?” for only four shows.


Per a Quigley Poll conducted in 1961, Wood was the second most popular film star at the box office in the U.S. and in 1962, was the most popular star in the U.S.


Wood died tragically at age 43 when she drowned under mysterious/suspicious circumstances after falling off a boat near Santa Catalina Island, California.
